About
Northern Film Network (NFN) is a dynamic, creative organisation that provides accessible support and encouragement to emerging filmmakers, increasing their awareness of, and access to, the film/media industry and exposing them to new ideas and opportunities.
Established in 2000 the network has since grown to over 2,500 members across the North West region and beyond, and is continuing to grow. Our key objectives are to:
Distribute Information; Call for entries, funding opportunities, crew and cast calls, job recruitment, special screenings, festivals, events, etc. Advice to correspondents who approach individually at events or via phone or email.
Be a Catalyst; Get talent networking via events. Making formal and informal introductions between people who would work well together. Negotiating discounts for members.
Provide Advocacy; Promoting the region’s talent via our regional, national and international links. Offering an informed overview of the region’s emerging filmmaking scene. Being a port of call for press, programmers and national schemes targeting North West talent.
We achieve these objectives via a combination of our weekly Friday E-Mail Newsletter, the website and our events series. NFN consists of a part-time editor and a non-executive board. We gratefully acknowledge the supported of Northwest Vision and Media and Awards for All.
