Apr 4, 11:56 AM by Kate Taylor

It’s almost time for the ninth Keswick Film Festival, which as usual, features up-to-date films mixed in with some exciting pre-release films that have never been screened in Cumbria before. The Festival starts with the opening party for passholders and invited guests on Thursday 10th April and runs through until Sunday 13th April.

We have three UK premieres – Private Property starring Isabelle Hupert, The Class from Estonia and The Orchestra of the Piazza Vittorio. Other previews include the Lebanese ladies’ delight Caramel and you’ll get the chance to some of this year’s fab films including big titles such as There Will Be Blood and No Country for Old Men, and lesser known gems such as Water Lilies and The Edge of Heaven. And we will be welcoming Michael Winner to the Theatre by the Lake and presenting three of his best films Death Wish, The Jokers and Hannibal Brooks. Also look out for our event featuring Carl Hunter, director of Grow Your Own who’ll be introducing his film.
Tickets and passes are on sale in person and online at the Theatre by the Lake. And more information about programme can be found here.
