A Season of John Carpenter

The Star & Shadow Cinema presents a season of films from the master of terror John Carpenter.

Through April The Star & Shadow Cinema will be showing a season of John Carpenters films that date from the 70’s and 80’s the period regarded as the golden age of Carpenter cult movies.

The four movies that will be screened, the western reinvention Assault on Precinct 13 (1976), the Alien invasion nightmare They Live (1988) the instant classic Escape from New York (1981), and Carpenter’s paranoid remake of The Thing (1982), make up a mini retrospective of his B movie, sci-fi political satire.

The film dates are as follows:

Sunday, April 11th, 7.30pm – Assault on Precinct 13 (1976, 91 mins, 35mm, cert 18)

Sunday, April 18th, 7.30pm – They Live (1988, 93 mins, DVD, cert18)

Sunday, April 25th, 7.30pm – Escape From New York (1981, 99 mins, DVD, cert 15)

Wednesday, April 28th, 7.30pm – The Thing (1982, 109 mins, 35mm, cert 18)
