Kino Shorts 8
Mar 5, 09:06 AM by Kate TaylorWednesday 10th March
7.30 doors – 7.45 pm Start
Greenroom, Manchester
This month Kino will be showing a selection of the films that they couldn’t fit into the festival. This is not to say they weren’t good just that they couldn’t get them all into the programme (ok, some didn’t quite make the grade and they won’t be showing those), but many they wanted to show the ones they couldn’t squeeze into the programme. So, they thought what better chance to screen them at the next Kino. Keep an eye on our update as Kimo will announce the programme shortly.
In normal Kino style the evening will feature screenings of local and North West short films plus Q & A’s with the attending filmmakers, in conversation with John Robb (local media commentator from punk-rock singer from the band Goldblade).
There will be a 30 min networking break for drinks half-way and will carry on after with part 2.
If there is time they will open up the last 20 mins to ‘drop in a film’ so do bring along a short to be picked out of the bag on the evening, you never know your luck – but no promises!!!
Films must be as short as possible and nothing over 10 mins. There’s no advance vetting by, just bring along your film, hand it to a Kino representative and they will choose at random 2 films for the last 20 mins or so, depending on the time schedule.
Do make sure make your DVD is a decent copy and plays on a DVD (not just your computer) as there will be no time to check it.
Please let them know when reserving tickets that you will be bringing in a short for the special guest slot so they can gauge response.
Tickets available on the night or reserve in advance by emailing info@kinofilm.org.uk
