NFN presents Treatments to Screen

Northern Film Network in association with Channel K and Tubedale Films are going to be discussing script treatments. The event will also include a Q&A session and an opportunity to meet both the speakers and to network with other NFN members and
filmmakers from the region.
This event will be hosted by NFN. Guest speakers are
Matt Tiller, Director of Programming at Channel K who will be discussing treatments and his experience of their
journey from proposal stage to screen and how to pique the
interest of production companies. John Maxwell, from Tubedale Films will also be sharing his thoughts and experiences.
Matt Tiller is the Director of Programming at Channel K, the Manchester based production company formed by Channel X, makers of Shooting Stars andReeves & Mortimer. He began his career as a journalist and then producer/director of factual programming, including documentaries such as Bailiffs for BBC
One. Matt has developed several scripted comedy ideas winning commissions for BBC Three, Channel 4, E4 and Paramount Comedy. His latest project is a six part sitcom series in production for BBC Three. Matt and Channel K focus on developing local writing and performing talent.
John is a prolific filmmaker based in Liverpool. Since 1998 John has worked on 16 short films and 3 features, either as a writer, producer or director. John is currently finalising post-production on David Morrissey’s directorial debut feature The Pool, ahead of entry into the 2009 Berlinale Film Festival.
