The power of Twitter and Facebook is being used to create a new film about Tony Wilson and the Factory/Manchester ethos.

Manchester filmmaker Mark Ashmore and Co-producer Rebecca Joyce are using the social networking sites to ask people from around the world to contribute to a documentary about the legendary record label owner and the world created around it!

“The idea is to take a group of people who have never met before and create a film that reflects Tony Wilson’s life and philosophies,” said Mark. Film-makers, actors, writers and creative peeps from Nigeria to Canada, from Australia to Salford have got onboard project praxis.

The final film will be based on Wilson’s ideas on praxis – which he described as ‘doing something, and then only afterwards, finding out why you did it.’
The night will include Busking, a Twitter party, happenings, networking with a live soundtrack to the night to be created by Niko Paterakis recently back from SXSW, and the band Bloco Novo.

To get involved in the project, or for information on the films progress, you can follow on Twitter at #fac251 or search Facebook for Project Praxis.
