The power of Twitter and Facebook is being used to create a new film about Tony Wilson and the Factory/Manchester ethos.
Manchester filmmaker Mark Ashmore and Co-producer Rebecca Joyce are using the social networking sites to ask people from around the world to contribute to a documentary about the legendary record label owner and the world created around it!
“The idea is to take a group of people who have never met before and create a film that reflects Tony Wilson’s life and philosophies,” said Mark. Film-makers, actors, writers and creative peeps from Nigeria to Canada, from Australia to Salford have got onboard project praxis. The final film will be based on Wilson’s ideas on praxis – which he described as ‘doing something, and then only afterwards, finding out why you did it.’
The night will include Busking, a Twitter party, happenings, networking with a live soundtrack to the night to be created by Niko Paterakis recently back from SXSW, and the band Bloco Novo.
