Recycled Film Lab call for Artists/Filmmakers

10 in collaboration with Film Bee and Star and Shadow Cinema are running a special 5 day lab for artists/filmmakers about the creative re-use of found film and archive footage.
The first 4 days of the Lab will be practical sessions based at Star and Shadow Cinema, learning home film processing and printing techniques, working with 16mm found film. The San Francisco-based founder of Other Cinema and filmmaker Craig Baldwin is our special workshop guest. Over the last two decades his productions have been shown at international festivals, and his primary interests lie in archival retrieval and cultural activism.
The last day of the Lab will take place at the Recycled Film Symposium at Tyneside Cinema, this is the major industry event of AV Festival 10 and brings together artists, filmmakers, archives and film organizations.
A bursary of £150 per artist/filmmaker is provided in addition to a FREE place at the Recycled Film Symposium.
Places are very limited and participants need to be available for all 5 days of the Lab. To apply please send a short proposal on one side of A4 explaining why you are interested in taking part, in addition to your CV/ links to or examples of your work.
Selection criteria is based on your availability and relevance to your current artistic practice. The selection panel will include representatives from Film Bee and AV Festival 10.
