Sound Editor Needed

Oak Tree Films are seeking a sound editor based in the North West (ideally Manchester) to mix the sound on our 5 minute short film Turner’s War. This is a great opportunity to expand your showreel as we require the sound mixing for sequences in a World War I trench and also at an Edwardian shooting party.

Turner’s War is a short film based on true events that took place in Nottinghamshire in 1913. One year before his assassination Archduke Franz Ferdinand was nearly shot and killed in a shooting accident when a loader slipped and fired both barrels of a shotgun at him. At the time everyone thought it was a great stroke of luck that he survived, however all it meant was that he was alive and well that fateful day in Sarajevo.

The film imagines how that loader might have felt if he wound up in the trenches, about to go over. It asks the question whether one man’s good fortune cost the lives of millions. Have a look at our website www.oaktreefilms.com to see productions stills. Please email your cv to info@oaktreefilms.com, and we will ask for showreels later. Payment will be a credit on the film, a copy of the DVD and for any necessary travel expenses.
