Responsible to the Hire Manager for helping to provide a technical support service across the department.
To be responsible for the provision and maintenance, tracking and allocating of all technical equipment, and advising on their use.
Key Responsibilities
Preparation of equipment.
Advise production staff in the use of Various Cameras, accessories and other technical equipment.
To be responsible for the provision of maintenance of the above equipment ensuring faults are quickly detected and rectified, and worn out stock is replaced where necessary.
To organise the day to day movement of equipment in response to productions needs, and maintain systems to ensure accurate record keeping of all aspects of the equipment.
To resolve technical questions/queries over the phone and face to face. Assist with basic camera repair and manage the process of serious repairs to equipment.
To respond to technical queries on DV, HD and Tapeless cameras and associated equipment from programme makers across the BBC.
To deal with equipment invoices, and establish and maintain suitable methods of keeping track of equipment losses in conjunction with the Manager.
To keep up-to-date on the commercial market in relation to all relevant technical developments and costs.
