Volunteers, Interms, Management Committee Members Required Urgently

KINOFILM is looking for volunteers to help in a variety of roles in the planning of the re-launch of Kino’s International Short Film Festival in February 2010. The festival will be needing the following assistance as soon as possible.

Submissions Assistants – to coordinate the European-wide “Call for Entries” via email and telephone to other Festivals, Production Companies, Short Film Agencies, Distributors, Education Institutions, other cultural partnerships, and to update listings on up to 50 plus industry related websites.

Personal Assistant for director – to help with a variety of tasks including admin, liaising with new and established cultural partners, developing new partners, assisting on the festival programme development.

Sponsorship Assistant – to help in development of sponsorship proposals and securing of sponsorship the festival.

The above posts need a minimum of 2 – 3 days a week.

They also need volunteers to help in the following roles which could be part-home based and therefore more flexible.

Web Site Developer – to advise and help with upgrading or redesign of the Kinofilm web site.
Social networking sites coordinator – to update the various sites i.e. Facebook, Myspace, LinkedIn etc on a regular basis.
Events coordinator – to assist on the promotion and production of Kino’s monthly short film nights.

Intern Positions They would welcome applications from post/graduates for possible intern positions for any of / or combination of these roles. For those seriously interested in gaining experience of working on the development and delivery of a film festival, this provides excellent opportunity for career development. Please note that to apply for an Intern position applicants must be available four days a week.

All opportunities are unpaid though is a unique opportunity to be involved and be part of the relaunch of Manchester’s longest running film festival. Please note: there is the opportunity for commission to be paid on all successful funding / sponsorship applications for the right person.

Management Committee members.
Would you like to become involved in the policy making process of the film festival, the direct operation, programming, and maybe offering marketing and design advise etc? If so you can help us in re-establishing Kino’s status as the premier Independent film festival in Manchester and the North West?

They are looking for members of the Cultural Industries Sector to join us in creating a management committee to advise in the planning and delivery of the festival. The management committee will be formed to advise on decision making and policies of the festival and will offer advise and other essential skills to the small team. Interested? Then you must be able to contribute both positively and creatively and attend regular meeting.
